YEA FOR HAIRCUTS AND NEW GLASSES!!

Oh yea!  There's a story behind the glasses.  I don't know if some of you remember but about a year ago I had bought some new glasses from Lens Crafters.  I did this without Christian knowing and spend like $400 on this particular pair of glasses.  And to add insult to injury, I opened up a credit card with them so I could pay it off over time without interest for 3 months.  Um... needless to say, Christian was not pleased.  But I loved these glasses.  Anyways, around May we went to VA to see my little niece Kamile be blessed.  During the rush to get out of the car and into the church I picked up a plastic bag and threw garbage, dirty diapers, etc. into this bag.  I went directly into the women's bathroom and tossed it.  I went throughout the entire day thinking that I needed to go and make sure that I hadn't thrown anything important away but I kept ignoring the thought.  So by the time we left back for NC it occurred to me.... CRAP.... my glasses were at the bottom of that bag.  I told Christian and I thought he was going to be so mad but all he said was, "You're not getting new ones."  So I called Kahea (my cousin) when I got home and asked her if someone could check the dumpster for me.  On monday, they did but it was empty. I was so desperate that I even called different garbage companies that I looked up online.  I then remembered a program from church that sunday and looked up the Bishop's last name.  (yes, i am that psycho) and called him at home.  He didn't answer but his teenage son did and I (somehow) convinced him to give me his dad's cell phone number.  So I'm calling this random bishop in the phone and begged him to look in all of the garbages and the dumpster to try and find my glasses.  So he got on it along with some help from their Scout Troop and about 2 hours later he called me and said that the garbages were empty as was the dumpster.  Just my Luck!! Their trash is picked up on Monday mornings.  What are the chances!  So feeling defeated, I let out a good long cry for my pretty Ralph Lauren glasses and moved on with my life.  The glasses that were my back up pair are from high school so their like 10 years old and WAY scratched up.  Not to mention my prescription has probably changed like 5 times since then.  Anyways, back to reality.  I finally got new glasses that look almost exactly like my old ones but are like $300 cheaper.  Christian was proud.  And I fully plan on guarding these glasses like my life depended on it.

LOVE ... LOVE ... LOVE THIS!

I'M DORKIER THAN YOU THOUGHT

I needed something new to read that wasn't Twilight. So what have I been reading, you ask? Harry Potter. I've tried to read it like 5 times and I could never get past the first few chapters. Now I'm almost done with the first and am ready to move on to the second. Also, Disney just played Harry Potter and I recorded it to compare to the book when I'm done. I watched the first half of the movie and now when I read the book... I have an english accent. It's really weird. I could never "perform" this accent however, because I would sound like an idiot. Anyways, for awhile I thought that maybe I wasn't "dorky" enough for Harry Potter (sorry wizard fans). But I'm actually enjoying it this time around. However, don't expect me to be dressing up like him for Halloween. That's just weird.

GEEEEZ KRISTY! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

It's cool.  You can say it. I've been M.I.A. for awhile now.  Mostly because NOTHING has been going on except for sick kids and lots of days filled with t.v., pajamas, and naps.  I know some people get stir crazy when they have to be home for too long, but since I work part time I really don't mind it.  So there are no pictures.  No award winning stories.  Just me and my chit-lins hanging out doing a whole lot of nothing.  So here goes another blog with random stories, facts, and maybe a few lies just to make it interesting :)

1. I have to finish every movie or t.v. show.  Even if it completely sucks.  Most people will turn it off or just walk out.  I HAVE to know how it ends.  That is why I get sucked in to mindless t.v.  Like CSI Miami, One Tree Hill, and such.

2. Landen has decided that "breast isn't best".  He screams at it.  Pushes away from it.  And arches his back like it's the most repulsive thing he's ever seen.  He'll still nurse every once in awhile but it's mostly bottle.  What can I say... my kids a rebel.

3. Mia had a fever of 103.5 degrees the other night. I think that's a record in our house.  We got it down to 100 degrees that night.  She is currently feeling better.  She did happen to tell me she was feeling yucky.  I asked her what would make her feel better.  And she said popcorn.

4. Everything is "when I turn 5" "when I'm 5" "when mommy was 5" etc.  It's cute and exhausting all at the same time.  Kalea is obsessed with her birthday and school.  She knows that when she turns 5 she gets to go to school.  She's going to be very disappointed when she finds out she'll have to wait until the fall to actually go to school.

5. Christian loves me even though I spend his money.  He even buys me fast food on occasion because he knows that it's the way to my heart.  I also buy flat iron's that I don't need, snacks for work which includes Sea Salt and Vinegar Kettle chips, Smarties, Girl Scout Cookies, Dr. Pepper, etc.  I like to have my bases covered.  Salty, sweet, chocolaty, but NEVER EVER healthy. :)  Think what you want, but sometimes I just don't want to share.  So the perfect time for my selfishness is when I am at work, in front of a computer, stuffing my face.

6. Landen loves to roll all over the house.  And barfs in between rolls.  His rolling has begun to prevent him from sleeping through the night.  Or maybe it's his teething.  Or maybe it's his chubbiness and just wants to eat all the time.  But not from me of course.

Oh yeah, and I'm getting my hair cut.  I seriously hope it looks like this as the end result.  Just obviously not blonde.  It's time for a change.  I've had long hair forever and I want a little more personality to it. I know that some of you L*O*V*E my hair and are screaming "DOOOOON'T" to your computer right now.  But it is time.  And let's be honest, I'm just going to grow it back anyways.

A FEW TEARS AND LOTS OF COMFORT

My family has recently lost our sweet dog Mahanna. She was our family pet for over 13 years. We loved her dearly and I know she loved us in return. As she got older she lost her hearing, sight, and had cancer.

Lane used to call her the "Helen Keller of dogs" being blind and deaf.

When she was a puppy she slept with me the first night at home. She mostly howled cause she was sad, but we slept some too.

As she got older she became VERY sassy. We always laughed at how much Mahanna did not like Lane. She constantly thought she was dominant over him. It drove him nuts. It made me laugh.

When she would sleep at night, she would growl at you if you came near her. She wanted to be left alone.

In high school, when i would come home from work or going out with friends I would stay up late and watch tv. Mahanna knew the drill. She was NOT allowed on the furniture, but when it was late, she would come and lay on my lap on the couch. (Sorry mom and dad).

I remember coming home from work and nobody was home but my dad. Mahanna was pregnant and in labor. My dad was helping her with each puppy after she delivered. It was a softer side of my dad that I will never forget. For awhile she was so protective over those puppies that he was the only one that could go near them.

I'll always remember the way Luke would say, "MOE-HANNA".
And how anybody who met her would automatically say, "Mahanna, You Ugly." Like we had never heard that one before.

When we got Moki 3 years later Mahanna did not like him. He annoyed her to death. But they learned to become best friends.

My mom was Mahanna's favorite person mostly because she fed her.

He absolute LOVED to have her ears and belly rubbed. It always made her foot thump like crazy.

When she was a puppy and people would come over, she would get very excited and pee on the floor or pee on their shoes.

She loved to chase. She would put her butt in the air and her head to the ground like she was ready to pounce. I miss that.

I remember when Luke took her for a walk one day and she came back with something soggy in her mouth. I was outside and Luke thought it was just a wet pile of leaves in her mouth. It was a dead squirrel. Luke had to play tug-o-war to get that nasty thing away from her.

In our old house we had a ladder and slide in the back yard. Mahanna knew how to climb the ladder and slide down the slide. She's awesome.

As you can tell, I absolutely LOVED this dog. She was a member of our family and always will be. I'm so grateful to have had her in my life. She taught me how to love all animals and to see the joy that they can bring to people. She was so tough and sassy. She was a blessing to my family growing up. We all loved Mahanna. I love that she has taught my children to love animals also. When we would go over to my parents house, Kalea would always run up to her and pet her and say hello. Even though Mahannah couldn't see for most of the time Kalea knew her, she knew Kalea's smell and would always wag her tail.

I ♥ U Mahanna

THEY HAVE A VERY CLOSE RELATIONSHIP

Christian was reading scriptures and Landen was fascinated with his hair. I get distracted easily so I HAD to record it!
