LOTS OF CELEBRATING GOIN ON

Shortly after Mia's birthday comes... Kalea's birthday! Their birthdays are 2 1/2 weeks apart which can be somewhat of a struggle. Each year we've had combined birthday celebrations except for this year. Which didn't make it any easier. Each one that they were getting presents on the other's birthday. They'll get used to it.

So Kalea wanted a Rainbow Cake. So what Kalea wants, Kalea gets. I didn't look especially appetizing to me, but to a 5 year old... it looked like Heaven.

Happy 5th Birthday Kalea! (I love Mia's face in this picture)

One thing that's so special about having a HUGE family is that you get sung to by at least 20 people. I told Christian the other day that he had "extra" brothers and sisters. He was like, "what's that supposed to mean." I told him that extra just meant that he had more then most people. Enough to spare, that is. :)

Here is Mia being sung to for her 3rd birthday along with Lucy(4) and Kate(2) who also had birthdays.

After birthdays and loads of stress that accompanied them, Christian and I made out way to the beach for a 3 day weekend. I was pretty pumped since we haven't been alone for that long in YEARS. Very exciting. Christian's mom was nice enough to watch the kids for us. We ended up leaving Thursday for Topsail Island. I LOVE it there. It's such a quiet peaceful place. Way less populated then Myrtle Beach or Wilmington. Our first day we went to the beach, ate Chinese food at the YUMMIEST place on earth called Nikki's. We weren't to sure since Nikki's doesn't exactly scream, we have AWESOME chinese food... but they do! I also made Christian try Sushi for the first time in his life. We ordered a special roll called the Hot Sexy Mama (i'm pretty sure it was named after me.) And it was SOOO good. Christian thought it was ok but I'm pretty sure he won't be having Sushi again any time soon. Anyways, we also got ice cream, and went to Jackson's amazing beach house that his family had rented it out. It was 3 floors with an elevator. I told Christian, "Babe, this is the life I was meant to live." He replied, "me too." At least we're on the same page.

This was just before the Rehearsal Dinner at Mainsail Restaurant.

A highlight of our trip: Christian wanted to know what we should do for 2 hours before check in at our motel. I said, "We could go the Aquarium in Wilmington. I think it's the National Aquarium or something." Christian looks at me and says, "International." I busted up laughing and said, "Thanks! I say one stupid thing and you make me sound even stupider." It's probably just the State Aquarium. That would make more sense. Also, while we were eating our Chinese food Christian kept talking to me in a Chinese accent and I thought I was going to pee my pants I was laughing so hard. We have such a fun time together. Always cracking each other up. It helps that we're funnier then most people.

Here are some pretty spectacular pictures of Jackson and Jerica's wedding taken by yours truly. (Disclaimer: I wore a pretty dress that wasn't exactly "modest" but I figured... hey, we're on the beach, they're lucky I didn't show up in a bathing suit.)

The wedding was GORGEOUS as you can see. Christian and I had a great time and are SO happy for Jackson and Jerica. We also got to cut a rug (for all you old people... that means dance) quite a bit at the reception. We ended up leaving around 10:30 that night so we could be home for the kids on Easter. We were pretty exhausted the next day. Christian made a wicked awesome Turkey for us to enjoy after church. Here are some pictures:

Check out Kalea and Mia's sweet headbands and necklaces that the Easter Bunny brought them along with some sidewalk chalk and candy (or course). Mia actually wore her headband, I was surprised.

Check out Landen's wicked awesome mohawk. He finally has hair!!

Look at the MISCHIEVOUS look in Landen's eye. He knows EXACTLY what he's doing.
